SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nicholas I. Fulop, who passed away on
4June 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was born in Budapest, Hungary to
6Margrete (Ratz) and Zolton Fulop on January 19, 1930; he
7honorably served in the United States Army in the Korean War;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, For nearly 40 years, Nicholas Fulop served with
10distinction as general manager of the Quadrangle Club at the
11University of Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was incredibly proud of his work in
13the restaurant industry, his wife's legendary broadcast
14career, his notable philanthropy and charitable endeavors, and
15when he could, his ability to predict stocks that would soar
16and profit; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop enjoyed golf, Lipizzan horses,
18making gourmet meals, and traveling with his lady love, Merri
19Dee; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was the beloved and devoted husband

1of Merri Dee; the loving father of Toya (Kevin) Campbell; the
2cherished grandfather of Marissa, Jordan, and Kevin Campbell
3Jr.; the brother-in-law to Thyra (the late Harold) Clark, Doris
4Hill, and Ernest (the late Deonie) Blouin; the fond uncle of
5numerous nieces and nephews; the friend to adopted son, Richard
6(Julia Ann) Wright; and faithful friend to many; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Nicholas I. Fulop, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Nicholas Fulop as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
