SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth N. Hammons of Springfield, who
4passed away on May 11, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was born in Springfield to Herbert
6and Carrie Cook Holman on July 4, 1932; she married George D.
7Hammons Jr. in Springfield on June 25, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was an accounting clerk with the
9State of Illinois Attorney General's Office for over 20 years,
10retiring in 1981; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons enjoyed camping all over the United
12States and spending time with her family; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was preceded in death by her husband,
14George, and her sister, Mary Richmond; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons is survived by her son, Anthony O.
16(Terri) Hammons; her daughters, Jennifer (Rev. Robert) Timms
17and Denise A. Hammons; her grandchildren, Anthony Hammons Jr.,
18Akeyla Timms, India Hammons, Robert Timms Jr., Tanesha Stoner,
19and Aiisha Stoner; and three great-grandchildren; therefore,

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Ruth N. Hammons, and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Ruth Hammons as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
