SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank E. Pope of Godfrey, who passed away
4on April 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Pope was born in Owensville, Missouri to
6Frank Dillard and Tilda (Breeden) Pope on August 9, 1931; he
7proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War;
8he married Sharon R. Griffin on June 30, 1975; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Pope was an area business owner; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frank Pope was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1308,
11the Masonic Lodge Franklin 25 AF and AM, and the American
12Legion of Alton; he was a longtime member of the former Alton
13Eagles and he was a faithful follower of Rev. Joel Osteen; he
14was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers;
15he was a jokester who loved to pull pranks and was a devoted
16family man; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frank Pope was preceded in death by his parents
18and four siblings, Daniel Vondracek, Irene Honaker, Melvin, and
19Edward Pope; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frank Pope is survived by his wife, Sharon; his

1son, Greg (Karen) Pope; his stepchildren, Mike Norris and Becky
2Norris; his grandchildren, Nikki Jones, Megan McDonald, Eric
3Pope, Sarah Myers, Tristan Reeves, Jacklyn Reeves, and Judy
4Reeves; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Oleta Wieneke;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Frank E. Pope, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Frank Pope as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
