SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Peggy L. Zimmerman of Cottage Hills, who
4passed away on January 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peggy Zimmerman was born in East St. Louis to
6Raymond and Mary Mildred (Dockins) Roberson on April 13, 1950;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Peggy Zimmerman retired as a Staff Representative
9of AFSCME Council 31; she was a member of the Greater Madison
10County Federation of Labor, Southwestern Illinois Democratic
11Women, AFSCME Retiree Sub-Chapter 59, and the Alton VFW #1308
12Women's Auxiliary; she served as a precinct committee woman and
13worked most of her life fighting for the rights of others; she
14also volunteered at the Hope Center; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peggy Zimmerman enjoyed spending time with her
16family, watching her kids and grandkids participate in sports,
17watching cheerleading and wrestling, and spending time on the
18water; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Peggy Zimmerman was preceded in death by her
20parents; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Zimmerman; her brother,
21Lowell Roberson; and her grandchildren, Mary, Teagan, and

2    WHEREAS, Peggy Zimmerman is survived by her children,
3Dallas Zimmerman, Tammie (Chris) Blevins, Jodi Kaye Zimmerman,
4and Travis Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Dez, Aerika,
5Kylea, Dakota, Kale, Noa, Harper, and Averee; her
6great-grandchildren, Raegan, Azuriah, Malachi, Ryann, and
7another great-grandson on the way; and many other relatives and
8friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Peggy L. Zimmerman, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Peggy Zimmerman as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
