|
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that any person who does not attach a "tow truck" plate to the front and rear of each registered vehicle and a "tow truck" plate to the rear of the vehicle being towed, unless the towed vehicle displays a valid registration plate visible from the rear while being towed, is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 5-801 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/5-801) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 5-801)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 5-801. Criminal penalties. Any person who violates any |
| 8 | | of the provisions of this Chapter, except a person who violates |
| 9 | | a provision for which a different criminal penalty is |
| 10 | | indicated, is shall be
guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Any |
| 11 | | person who violates subsection (e) of Section 5-202 is guilty |
| 12 | | of a Class C misdemeanor. Any person who violates any |
| 13 | | provisions
of Section 5-701 is shall be guilty of a Class 3 |
| 14 | | felony.
