SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 835/3b new

Amends the State Parks Act. Provides that the Department of Natural Resources shall reach an agreement with Dawson Township in McLean County regarding the sale of a portion of Moraine View State Park to the township. Provides that Dawson Township shall pay the full market value for the property. Provides that the sale and conveyance of the acreage shall not transpire until the Department is able to acquire an adequate replacement property that satisfies federal requirements, and the Department shall have 5 years from the date of the agreement with Dawson Township to acquire the replacement property. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Parks Act is amended by adding Section 3b as follows:

(20 ILCS 835/3b new)

Sec. 3b. Sale of State park property. Within one year of the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, an agreement shall be reached between the Department of Natural Resources and Dawson Township located in McLean County as to the exact acreage, but no more than 5 acres, and the location of the acres within Moraine View State Park to be sold to the township. Dawson Township shall pay the full market value for the property as determined by the average of 3 different appraisals. The sale and conveyance of the acreage shall not transpire until the Department is able to acquire an adequate replacement property that satisfies the federal requirements for the transfer of the parcel at Moraine View State Park. The Department shall have 5 years from the date of the agreement with Dawson Township to acquire the replacement property.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
