AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2032

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2032 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Local Records Act is amended by adding
5Section 25 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 205/25 new)
7    Sec. 25. Publication by internet posting; digital
8maintenance of public records. Notwithstanding any other
9provision of law:
10        (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Section, any
11    requirement for a school district or a unit of local
12    government to publish any notice, agenda, record, or other
13    information or material in a newspaper by law including,
14    but not limited to, the Open Meetings Act, the Illinois
15    Municipal Budget Law, the Intergovernmental Cooperation
16    Act, the Counties Code, the Township Code, the Illinois

1    Municipal Code, the Election Code, the School Code, the
2    Airport Authorities Act, or the Civic Center Code, may
3    instead publish such notice, agenda, record, or other
4    information on its website or on data.illinois.gov or any
5    successor website to data.illinois.gov maintained by, or
6    on behalf of, the State of Illinois.
7        (2) Before January 1, 2021, a school district or unit
8    of local government that publishes any notice, agenda,
9    record, or other information or material on its website or
10    data.illinois.gov as provided for in this Section shall
11    also post a notice in the newspaper or newspapers where the
12    notice, agenda, record, or other information or material
13    would otherwise have been required to be posted absent the
14    provisions of this Section. The notice in the newspaper or
15    newspapers shall provide the website address where the full
16    notice, agenda, record, or other information or material
17    may be found.
18        (3) Any requirement that a school district or unit of
19    local government store or maintain any public record in
20    microfilm or microfiche form shall be satisfied by the
21    school district's or unit of local government's
22    maintenance of such public record in digital form.".
