AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1680

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1680 as follows:
 
3on page 1, line 5, by replacing "Section 6-901" with "Sections
46-901 and 6-906"; and
 
5on page 3, immediately below line 7, by inserting:
 
6    "(605 ILCS 5/6-906)  (from Ch. 121, par. 6-906)
7    Sec. 6-906. So much of the amount apportioned to a county
8under Section 6-901 that is obligated under Sections 6-902
9through 6-904 and for which local funds have been committed
10under Section 6-905, within 4 years from the date the
11apportionment is made, shall, upon certification by the
12Department, be paid to the county treasurer, who shall apply
13those funds to the payment of such obligations. Any funds
14allocated to a county under Section 6-901 that are not
15obligated within 48 months under Sections 6-902 through 6-904

1shall revert to the Road Fund.
2    The funds reverted to the Road Fund under this Section
3shall be considered lapse pool funds to provide additional
4monetary assistance to township road districts that have
5insufficient funding for the construction of bridges that are
620 feet or more in length under Section 6-901 of this Code. The
7township road district shall be subject to the local
8contribution requirements under Section 6-905 of this Code. The
9Department shall adopt rules to implement this Section.
