HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Ford Heights Community Service Organization
3was founded on June 13, 1968 by Evelyn L. Fields, H.P. Davis
4Rockwell, and Luvert Listenbee; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Ford Heights Community Service Organization
6was established to improve the quality of life for the
7underprivileged and to assist others in a time of crisis; and
 
8    WHEREAS, while providing services and leadership to
9thousands of individuals and families, the Ford Heights
10Community Service Organization has survived challenges brought
11on by economic downturns, increasing regulations, and a
12continually changing human services environment; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Ford Heights Community Service Organization
14has been a cornerstone entity within Ford Heights through the
15past 50 years and has worked to expand its outreach to serve
16south suburban Cook County; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Ford Heights Community Service Organization
18has set the standard for providing human services, along with
19comprehensive supportive services, through innovation,
20outstanding client service, and a continual focus on those in
21greatest need; and

1    WHEREAS, Everyone has a role to play in helping families
2succeed and communities thrive, including neighborhood
3organizations, businesses, nonprofit agencies, policymakers,
4and, of course, individuals and families themselves; and
 
5    WHEREAS, With the assistance and resources of agencies and
6organizations such as the Ford Heights Community Service
7Organization, a better future can be created for residents of
8our State; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11declare November 10, 2018 as Ford Heights Community Service
12Organization Day, celebrating 50 years of serving and enriching
13lives; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the Ford Heights Community Service Organization as
16a symbol of our respect and esteem.
