HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald
4Lee "Jerry" Crabb on January 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb was born in Maud, Oklahoma to Odus and
6Juanita Collins on June 24, 1938; he married the love of his
7life, Carol Ann Crawford, in Vandalia on December 8, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb was a longtime owner and partner of
9Crabb & Crawford Accountants in Eldorado with his
10brother-in-law, Carl Crawford; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb was a member of the Harrisburg First
12United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher,
13former youth leader, and served on many committees; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb had a generous and giving heart; he
15never met a stranger and opened his home to family and friends;
16he had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and his home was always
17full of laughter; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb enjoyed playing golf, traveling,
19watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing
20sports, and spending time with his family and friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb was preceded in death by his parents;
2his infant brother; his sister, Bobbie Daugherty; his
3brother-in-law and business partner, Carl Crawford; and his
4brothers-in-law, Bob Koons and Dean Crawford; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Crabb is survived by his wife of 61 years,
6Carol; his daughters, Mary Reed, Martha James, and LeAnn
7Miller; his son, John Crabb; his grandchildren, Julie Martin,
8Lucas Reed, Daniel Reed, Laura Westbrook, Isabel Crabb, Isaac
9Crabb, Ian Crabb, Scott Reed, and Nikki Andrews; his
10great-grandchildren, Jack and Sam Martin, Kendall Reed, Ethan
11and Carter Reed; his sister, Kathy Smith; his brother-in-law,
12Jack Daugherty; his sisters-in-law, Cindy Crawford, Nellie
13Koons, and Jean Crawford; and several nieces, nephews, best
14friends, and special neighbors; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we,
17along with his family and friends, mourn the passing and
18celebrate the life of Gerald Lee "Jerry" Crabb; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Jerry Crabb as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
