<reference>40 ILCS 5/16-132</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-132</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that the effective date of a retirement annuity shall be no earlier than 2 years before the date of receipt by the System of the application for retirement. Contains a nonacceleration provision.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<reftype>Adds reference to:</reftype><reference>40 ILCS 5/7-141</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that the effective date of a retirement annuity may not be more than 2 years (rather than one year) prior to the date on which the application for the annuity is received by the Fund. Also limits the application of the change made by the underlying bill to members of the Teachers' Retirement System who are not eligible to retire on the effective date of this amendatory Act.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
