HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees and 
4owners of Strang Funeral Home in Antioch on the occasion of the 
5organization's 100th anniversary in 2012; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Strang Funeral Home of Antioch was founded in 
71912 by Leland Strang; his son, Ed Strang, grew up in Antioch 
8and worked for his father since 1931; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, In 1933, Strang Funeral Home was moved to its 
10current location at the former Charles Thorn Farm house; in 
111941, an expansion was constructed on 2 acres of ground on the 
12premises; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, In 1950, Ed Strang purchased the business from his 
14father; in 1962, during the 50th anniversary of the business, 
15Mr. Strang extensively remodeled the funeral home; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Following Mr. Strang's retirement in 1976, Dan 
17Dugenske, who had been on staff since 1959, became the new 
18owner; today, Mr. Dugenske and his staff continue to be 
19dedicated to the families they serve in the Wisconsin and 
20Illinois areas; and

1    WHEREAS, The employees and owners of Strang Funeral Home 
2serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the 
3people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate the employees and owners of Strang Funeral Home 
7on the occasion of the organization's 100th anniversary, thank 
8them for their many years of dedicated service to the people of 
9Antioch and the State of Illinois, and wish them continued 
10success and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Strang Funeral Home as a symbol of our esteem and 
13respect.
