| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing Section |
| 5 | | 3 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (750 ILCS 50/3) (from Ch. 40, par. 1504)

| 7 | | Sec. 3.
Who may be
adopted.
|
| 8 | | A male or female child, or an adult, may be adopted, |
| 9 | | provided the
the other
conditions set forth in this Act are |
| 10 | | met, and further provided, with
respect to an adult, that such |
| 11 | | adult has resided in the home of the persons
intending to adopt |
| 12 | | him at any time for more than 2 years continuously
preceding |
| 13 | | the commencement of an adoption proceeding, or in the |
| 14 | | alternative
that such persons are related to him within a |
| 15 | | degree set forth in the
definition of a related child in |
| 16 | | Section 1 of this Act. |
