| AN ACT concerning civil law.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 5-101 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (735 ILCS 5/5-101) (from Ch. 110, par. 5-101)

| Sec. 5-101. Security for costs. In all actions in any court |
| 8 |
| on official bonds for the
the use of any
person, actions on the |
| 9 |
| bonds of executors, administrators or guardians,
qui tam |

| actions, actions on a penal statute, and in all civil actions,
|
| 11 |
| where the plaintiff, or person for whose use an action is to be
|
| 12 |
| commenced, is not a resident of this State, the plaintiff, or
|
| 13 |
| person for whose use the action is to be commenced, shall, |
| 14 |
| before he
or she institutes such action, file, or cause to be |
| 15 |
| filed, with the clerk of the
court in which the action is to be |
| 16 |
| commenced, security for costs,
substantially in the following |
| 17 |
| form: |
