<reference>720 ILCS 646/115 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act. Provides that whenever any person pleads guilty to, is found guilty of, or is placed on supervision for an offense under the Act, in addition to any other penalty imposed by the court, no such person shall thereafter knowingly purchase, receive, own, or otherwise possess any substance or product containing a methamphetamine precursor, without the methamphetamine precursor first being prescribed for the use of that person in the manner provided for the prescription of Schedule II controlled substances under Article III of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act. Provides that a violation is a Class 1 felony.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Limits a violation of these provisions to a person who pleads guilty to, is found guilty of, or is placed on supervision for a violation of the Act who thereafter purchases, receives, owns, or otherwise possesses any substance or product containing more than 7,500 milligrams (rather than any amount) of a methamphetamine precursor without a prescription. Changes the penalty from a Class 1 to a Class 4 felony.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that the prescription for the methamphetamine precursor must be prescribed for the use of the offender by an authorized prescriber (rather than in the manner provided for the prescription of Schedule II controlled substances under the Illinois Controlled Substances Act).</SynopsisText></synopsis>
