Creates the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Fund and the Hospital Licensure Fund. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>As to licensure fees for ambulatory surgical treatment centers, provides that the fee shall be established by administrative rule of the Department of Public Health, in consultation with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, but not to exceed $1500 and further subject to the limitations on health care-related taxes imposed by federal law that, if violated, would result in reductions to the amount of federal financial participation received by the State for Medicaid expenditures (rather than, a license fee of $1500). As to licensure fees for hospitals, provides that the fee shall be established by administrative rule of the Department of Public Health, in consultation with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, but not to exceed $50 per bed and further subject to the limitations on health care-related taxes by federal law that, if violated, would result in reductions to the amount of federal financial participation received by the State for Medicaid expenditures. Makes similar changes regarding renewal fees for hospitals.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
