<reference>P.A. 95-1028, Sec. 999 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends Public Act 95-1028 to provide that it takes effect upon the effective date of this amendatory Act. Public Act 95-1028 provides that the redevelopment project in the TIF district created by an ordinance that was adopted on December 22, 1986 by the Village of Hoffman Estates must be completed by December 31 of the 35th year after the year in which the ordinance was adopted. This amendatory Act is effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>

Reinserts the introduced bill with changes. Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Allows a member of the corporate authorities of a municipality to acquire an interest in property located in a redevelopment area or a proposed redevelopment area for a period of 2 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act if (i) the property is used exclusively as the member's primary residence, (ii) the member discloses the acquisition to the municipal clerk, (iii) the acquisition is for fair market value, (iv) the member acquires the property as a result of the property being publicly advertised for sale, and (v) the member refrains from voting on, and communicating with other members concerning, any matter when the benefits to the redevelopment project or area would be significantly greater than the benefits to the municipality as a whole.
