<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>215 ILCS 5/356z.19 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that accident and health insurance policies and managed care plans that provide coverage for prescription drugs must provide coverage for any type of dietary supplement, including, but not limited to, homeopathic, holistic, and micronutrient naturopathic supplements, prescribed by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches. Provides that coverage for dietary supplements that are prescribed by a physician may be subject to deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, or annual or maximum payment limits that are consistent with deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, or annual or maximum payment limits applicable to coverage for prescription drug benefits under the policy or plan.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Changes the designation of a physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches to a physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 practicing within his or her scope of practice.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
