In the exemption from a violation of the statutes concerning unlawful use of weapons and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, provides that the transportation of the weapon must be unloaded and enclosed in a firearm case, carrying box, shipping box, or a similar portable (rather than any portable) container designed for the safe transportation of firearms. Provides that it is a Class 1 felony to sell or give a firearm to a person whom the seller or giver knows is a street gang member.State Debt Impact Note (Government Forecasting & Accountability) HB 5849 would not change the amount of authorization for any type of State-issued or State-supported bond, and, therefore, would not affect the level of State indebtedness.Judicial Note (Dept of Commerce and Community Affairs) HB 5849 would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State.
