Sets forth requirements concerning the calendar for the school term, including requiring that it provide a minimum of at least 150 days to ensure 141 of actual pupil attendance. Provides that the calendar for the school term and any changes must be submitted to and approved by the regional superintendent of schools before the calendar or changes may take effect. Allows the school board to establish experimental educational programs, with conditions. Makes changes concerning a 4-day school week in provisions concerning special education reimbursement and the State aid formula. Effective immediately.Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Adds reference to:40 ILCS 5/16-130from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-130Limits the authority of a school district to adopt an alternative school calendar for a 4-day school week to the 2010-2011 school year or the 2011-2012 school year or both. Provides that the provisions do not apply to the Chicago school districts. Makes other changes. Amends the Downstate Teachers Article of the Illinois Pension Code.
