Provides that a county, including a home rule county, may not require registration of firearms or impose greater restrictions or limitations on the acquisition, possession, transportation, carrying, and transfer of firearms, firearm attachments, and firearm ammunition than are imposed by the Act and the Criminal Code of 1961. Effective immediately.Land Conveyance Appraisal Note (Dept. of Transportation) No land conveyances are included in this bill, therefore, there are no appraisals to be filed. State Debt Impact Note (Government Forecasting & Accountability) HB 172 would not change the amount of authorization for any type of State-issued or State-supported bond, and, therefore, would not affect the level of State indebtedness. Pension Note (Government Forecasting & Accountability) HB 172 will not impact any public pension fund or retirement system in Illinois. Judicial Note (Admin Office of the Illinois Courts) HB 172 would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State.Fiscal Note (Illinois State Police) HB 172 would have no fiscal impact to the Illinois State Police. State Mandates Fiscal Note (Dept. of Commerce & Economic Opportunity) This bill does not create a State mandate under the State Mandates Act. Balanced Budget Note (Office of Management and Budget) HB 172 has no fiscal impact and adds no additional spending pressure to the General Revenue Fund or to the current Fiscal Year 2009 budget deficit.Housing Affordability Impact Note (Housing Development Authority) This bill will have no effect on the cost of constructing, purchasing, owning, or selling a single-family residence.
