625 ILCS 5/11-1431 new










    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that an officer of the Department of State Police who is driving a motor vehicle in the course of his or her official duties must have his or her in-car video camera operating at all times. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning transportation.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by adding 
5
Section 11-1431 as follows:

    (625 ILCS 5/11-1431  new)

    Sec. 11-1431. Officers of the Department of State Police; 
8
in-car video cameras. An officer of the Department of State 
9
Police who is driving a motor vehicle in the course of his or 
10
her official duties must have his or her in-car video camera 
11
operating at all times.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
13
becoming law.
