| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 80-30.5 as follows:
|

| (60 ILCS 1/80-30.5 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 80-30.5. Long-term contracts. Any township may enter |
| 8 |
| into a long-term energy contract, even if the length of the |
| 9 |
| contract exceeds the term of office of the corporate |
| 10 |
| authorities that approved the contract.
