| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3139 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |

| 27-17.5 as follows:

| (105 ILCS 5/27-17.5 new) |

| Sec. 27-17.5. Internet safety education. Beginning with |
| 8 |
| the 2009-2010 school year, each school board shall require that |
| 9 |
| pupils be provided instruction on Internet safety pursuant to a |
| 10 |
| curriculum developed by the school board.

| 11 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 12 |
| becoming law.".
