AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2800

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2800 by replacing 
3
everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The Adjutant General, on behalf of the State of 
5
Illinois and the Department of Military Affairs, is authorized 
6
to convey by Quitclaim Deed all right, title, and interest of 
7
the State of Illinois and the Department of Military Affairs in 
8
and to the real estate described in Section 10 to the City of 
9
Galesburg, subject to the conditions and restrictions 
10
described in Section 15.

    Section 10. The Adjutant General is authorized to convey 
12
the following described real property:

Parcel 1:

Thirty-two (32) feet off of the entire North side of Sublot

Eight (8), in a subdivision of original Lots Seven (7) and

Eight (8) of Block Eleven (11), in the City of Galesburg, as

shown by a plat recorded on page 36 in volume 78 of Knox County

Deed Records; and otherwise described as the North 32 feet of 
5
the West one-half of original Lot 7 of Block 11, in the City of 
6
Galesburg.

Thirty-two (32) feet off of the entire North side of Sublot

Seven (7) in a subdivision of original Lots Seven (7) and Eight

(8) of Block Eleven (11), in the City of Galesburg, as shown by

a plat recorded on page 36 in volume 78 of Knox County Deed 
12
Records; and otherwise described as the North 32 feet of the 
13
East one-half of original Lot 7 of Block 11, in the City of 
14
Galesburg.

Sublots Fifteen (15) and Sixteen (16) in the subdivision of the

South six (6) feet of Lot Three (3), and all of Lots Four (4),

Chancery Records, page 410, Knox County Records.

    Section 15. The Adjutant General shall not convey the above 
22
real property to the City of Galesburg until the Adjutant

General determines that the property is no longer required for 
2
military purposes.  In this regard, construction of the new 
3
Readiness Center in Galesburg must be completed, and all 
4
military units with associated equipment must have been 
5
transferred from the armory property described in Section 10 to 
6
the new Readiness Center in Galesburg.  Conveyance of the above 
7
real property will be in an "as is" condition, and the City of 
8
Galesburg will pay all required costs and expenses of the 
9
conveyance, as determined by the Adjutant General.

    Section 20. The Adjutant General shall obtain a certified 
11
copy of this Act from the Secretary of State within 60 days 
12
after its effective date and, upon conveyance of the real 
13
estate described in Section 10 being made, shall cause the 
14
certified copy of this Act to be recorded in the office of the 
15
recorder of Knox County, Illinois.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
17
becoming law.".
