AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1696

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1696 on page 4, line 
3
12, by replacing "Department" with "local law enforcement 
4
agency"; and

on page 4, line 13, by inserting after the period the 
6
following:

"For the purposes of this Section, "local law enforcement 
8
agency" means the office of the county sheriff of the county 
9
where the owner of the lost or stolen firearm resides or the 
10
municipal police department of the municipality  where the owner 
11
of the lost or stolen firearm resides."; and
 
12
on page 4, line 23, by replacing "Department of State Police" 
13
with "local law enforcement agency"; and
 
14
on page 4, line 24, by inserting after the period the 
15
following:
