| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 4.02d as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 105/4.02d new)

| Sec. 4.02d. Older adult volunteer demonstration program. |
| 8 |
| The Department may establish and maintain, in collaboration |
| 9 |
| with the local Area Agency on Aging, a demonstration program to |
| 10 |
| evaluate the use of older adult volunteers to perform telephone |
| 11 |
| reassurance activities and outreach on the emergency home |
| 12 |
| response program. The demonstration program shall operate for a |
| 13 |
| period of 3 years. At the end of the 3-year period, the |
| 14 |
| Department shall evaluate the program and notify the General |
| 15 |
| Assembly of its findings and recommendations.
