Amends the County Care for Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act. Provides that any county board for the care and treatment of persons with a developmental

| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The County Care for Persons with Developmental |
| 5 |
| Disabilities Act is amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
|

| (55 ILCS 105/3) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 203)

| Sec. 3. County board for care and treatment of persons with |
| 8 |
| a developmental disability.
|
| 9 |
| (a) When any county has authority to levy a tax for the |
| 10 |
| purpose of this
Act, the presiding officer of the county board |
| 11 |
| with the advice and consent of
the county board, shall appoint |
| 12 |
| a board of 5
3 directors who shall administer
this Act. The |
| 13 |
| board shall be designated the "(name of county) County Board |
| 14 |
| for
Care and Treatment of Persons with a Developmental
|
| 15 |
| Disability". The original appointees shall be appointed for |
| 16 |
| terms expiring,
respectively, on June 30 in the first year (for |
| 17 |
| one appointee), second year (for 2 appointees), and third year |
| 18 |
| (for 2 appointees)
years following their
appointment as |
| 19 |
| designated by the appointing authority. All succeeding terms
|
| 20 |
| shall be for 3 years and appointments shall be made in like |
| 21 |
| manner. Vacancies
shall be filled in like manner for the |
| 22 |
| balance of the unexpired term. Each
director shall serve until |
| 23 |
| his successor is appointed. Directors shall serve
