| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 868, on page 1, by |

| replacing lines 20 and 21 with the following:

"(3) Any facility licensed under the Nursing Home |
| 5 |
| Care Act or the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act or |
| 6 |
| certified by the Department of Healthcare and Human |
| 7 |
| Services, provided the facility is in compliance with |
| 8 |
| relevant life safety code requirements and relevant |
| 9 |
| licensure physical standards. This exclusion shall not |
| 10 |
| apply to the need for carbon monoxide detectors in laundry |
| 11 |
| and kitchen areas.".
