<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>730 ILCS 5/5-5-3.2</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 38, par. 1005-5-3.2</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that it is an aggravating factor in sentencing that the defendant (i) committed reckless homicide or any violation of the Rules of the Road Chapter of the Illinois Vehicle Code and (ii) was sending an electronic text message or operating any electronic device not a part of the vehicle's original equipment, while operating a motor vehicle. Provides that the court may impose an extended term sentence when a defendant (i) is convicted of reckless homicide or is convicted of a felony violation of the Rules of the Road Chapter of the Illinois Vehicle Code and (ii) was sending an electronic text message or operating any electronic device not a part of the vehicle's original equipment, while operating a motor vehicle.
