Provides that a patient's records maintained by a health care practitioner shall be available to any person, entity, or organization presenting a valid authorization for the release of the records signed by the patient or the patient's legally authorized representative. Provides that charges for copies of health records or a client's records maintained by an attorney shall include actual postage or shipping costs and that the fee for copying electronic records shall be 75 cents for each CD Rom, DVD, or other electronic storage media. Repeals Section that concern health records maintained by a health care practitioner. Deletes references in a Section concerning copying fees to 2 repealed Sections. Effective immediately.Fiscal Note, House Amendment No. 1 (Financial & Professional Regulation) SB 472 (H-AM 1) has no projected fiscal impact to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
