Makes changes to a provision concerning the application of the Act as it relates to a new graduate performing perfusion services. Provides that license renewals shall take place on a 2-year cycle (rather than the renewal period being set by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation). Sets forth additional renewal requirements, including requiring the Department to mandate that licensees under the Act complete 30 hours of continuing education during each 2-year period. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Provides that each licensee must complete 30 hours of continuing education during each 2-year license renewal period (instead of mandating that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation require such by rule). Provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Limits the amount of time during which new graduate perfusionists are not prohibited from practice by the Act to a period of 14 months after the date of the perfusionist's graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs accredited perfusion education program. Allows the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to approve continuing education programs offered, provided, and approved by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or its successor agency to meet the 30-hour continuing education requirement set forth in the Act. Makes other changes.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
