In the Patients' Right to Know Law, requires the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to make physician profiles available to the public on or before September 1, 2008 (now, there is no implementation date for the requirement). Provides that the rules adopted by the Department under the Law shall include rules related to the submission of required information by physicians under the Law, and conditions initial, renewal, and restoration licensure upon the submission and updating of such required information. Effective immediately.House Amendment No. 1 Removes certain references to determinations made by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.House Amendment No. 2 Deletes reference to:225 ILCS 60/24.1Adds reference to:New Act225 ILCS 60/24.1 rep.Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Creates the Physician Profile Act. Requires the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to make available to the public a profile of each physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Sets forth the contents that must be included in the profile and allows a physician to elect to omit certain items from his or her profile. Provides that neither the Governor nor any agency or agency head under the jurisdiction of the Governor has any rulemaking authority under the Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.
