<reference>225 ILCS 25/44.5 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act. Requires all dental offices located in the State to contain at least one automated external defibrillator (AED) on the premises at all times. Provides that at least one member of the dental office staff must possess an acceptable level of knowledge in the use of AEDs and that the owner of the office is responsible for ensuring that the office is in compliance with the AED requirements.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<reftype>Adds reference to:</reftype><reference>210 ILCS 74/15</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>815 ILCS 645/14</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 29, par. 60.4</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act. Requires each dental office in the State to develop and implement an emergency medical plan. Requires all dental offices that administer anesthesia or sedation to contain at least one automated external defibrillator (AED) on the premises at all times. Provides that the owner of a dental office is responsible for complying with the emergency medical and AED requirements. Provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion. Amends the Physical Fitness Facility Medical Emergency Preparedness Act; provides that a physical fitness facility must ensure that there is a trained AED user on staff "during staffed business hours". Amends the Physical Fitness Services Act; provides that a physical fitness center shall have available and on its premises, during staffed business hours (instead of at all times during which members of such physical fitness center or other persons are engaged in physical fitness activities or receiving physical fitness services), at least one person who holds a valid certificate indicating that heor she has successfully completed a course of training in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation which complies with generally recognized standards for basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
