<reference>105 ILCS 5/2-3.142 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the School Code. Requires the State Board of Education to establish a 4-year pilot program in Aurora West Unit School District 129 and Aurora East Unit School District 131 to achieve a ratio of high school students to certified school counselors of 250 to 1. Allows the State Board to extend this pilot program to a school district in central or southern Illinois. Requires the State Board to work with the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling and local counseling directors to compile statistics on the pilot program. Provides that the State Board shall report the statistics it has compiled and the State Board's findings and recommendations concerning the pilot program to the General Assembly 2 years after the pilot program has been established and 4 years after the pilot program has been established.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Adds Limestone Walters Community Consolidated School District 316 as one of the school districts where the State Board of Education is required to establish the pilot program. Removes the provision that allows the State Board to extend the pilot program to a school district in central or southern Illinois. Changes the maximum amount to be appropriated for the pilot program from $500,000 to $750,000.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
