<reference>210 ILCS 9/22 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>210 ILCS 9/125</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Provides that before commencing construction of a new establishment or specified types of alterations or additions to an existing assisted living or shared housing establishment involving major construction, as defined by rule by the Department of Public Health, architectural drawings and specifications for the facility shall be submitted to the Department for review and approval. Requires final approval of the drawings and specifications for compliance with design and construction standards before the alteration, addition, or new construction is begun. Provides for submission of additional information and for reconsideration of a disapproval by the Department. Provides for fees in connection with the Department's review of drawings and specifications, and requires the deposit of fees into the Health Facility Plan Review Fund. Provides for appointment of Assisted Living and Shared Housing Standards and Quality of Life Advisory Board members by the Director of Public Health instead of the Governor. Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Reinserts the provisions of the bill concerning appointment of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Standards and Quality of Life Advisory Board members by the Director of Public Health instead of by the Governor. Provides that the director of an assisted living or shared housing establishment must have at least 2 years of experience in providing health care services to adults with disabilities or the elderly population either in an assisted living program, inpatient hospital, long-term care setting, or adult day care or in a health-related field approved by the Department of Public Health (instead of must have "appropriate" ability, training, and education). Provides that the director must also have at least 2 years of management experience. Provides that as a condition of an establishment's licensure under the Act, the director must participate in at least 20 hours of training every 2 years (instead of ongoing training) to assist him or her in better meeting the needs of the residents of the establishment and manage the operation of the establishment. <SynopsisText>Requires that the director of an assisted living or shared housing establishment have a high school diploma or equivalent plus either (A) 2 years of management experience or 2 years of experience in positions of progressive responsibility in health care, housing with services, or adult day care or providing similar services to the elderly or (B) 2 years of management experience or 2 years of experience in positions of progressive responsibility in hospitality and training in health care and housing with services management as defined by rule (instead of requiring that the director have (i) at least 2 years of experience in providing health care services to adults with disabilities or the elderly population in an assisted living program, inpatient hospital, long-term care setting, or adult day care or in a health-related field approved by the Department of Public Health and (ii) at least 2 years of management experience).</SynopsisText></synopsis>
