<reference>210 ILCS 45/3-202</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4153-202</aliasreference><reference>30 ILCS 805/8.31 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Nursing Home Care Act and the State Mandates Act. Provides that the minimum standards adopted by the Department of Public Health for the operation of nursing homes must include a requirement that all areas of a nursing home used by residents of the nursing home be air conditioned and heated; provides that such areas include bedrooms and common areas such as sitting rooms, activity rooms, living rooms, community rooms, and dining rooms. Provides that no reimbursement by the State is required for the implementation of any mandate created by this requirement. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<reftype>Deletes reference to:</reftype><reference>30 ILCS 805/8.31 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Replaces the amendatory changes to the Nursing Home Care Act with substantially similar provisions, but with changes that include the following: (1) provides that the Department of Public Health's standards for nursing homes must include a requirement that areas (instead of "all" areas) of a nursing home used by residents be air conditioned and heated; (2) requires that those areas be air conditioned and heated "by means of operable air-conditioning and heating equipment"; (3) provides that the areas subject to the air-conditioning and heating requirement include bedrooms or (instead of and) common areas; and (4) requires the Department to make a report to the General Assembly by July 1, 2008 concerning the impact of the changes made by this amendatory Act. Deletes a provision amending the State Mandates Act and providing that no reimbursement by the State is required for the implementation of any mandate created by the changes made to the Nursing Home Care Act.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
