AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1627

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1627, on page 1, 
3
line 9, by replacing ""Employer"" with ""Employee""; and 
 
4
on page 1, line 10, after "contractor.", by inserting 
5
""Employee" includes an employee of a covered employer who has 
6
been employed by the same employer for at least 12 months, and 
7
has been employed for at least 1,250 hours of service during 
8
the 12-month period immediately preceding the commencement of 
9
the leave."; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 27 through 29 with the following:

    "(a) An employee as defined under Section 5 of this Act is 
12
entitled to up to 30 days of unpaid family military leave 
13
during the time federal or"; and
 
14
on page 2, immediately below line 9, by inserting the 
15
following:
16
    "(c) An employee shall not take leave as provided under 
17
this Act unless he or she has exhausted all accrued vacation 
18
leave, personal leave, compensatory leave, and any other leave 
19
that may be granted to the employee, except sick leave and 
20
disability leave.".
