AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1627

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1627, on page 1, by 
3
replacing lines 20 through 22 with the following:

    "Employer" means (1) any person, partnership, corporation, 
5
association, or other business entity; and (2) the"; and

 
6
on page 1, by replacing line 31 with the following:
 
7
    "(a) Any employer, as defined in Section 5 of this Act, 
8
that employs between 15 and 50 employees shall provide up to 15 
9
days of unpaid family military leave to an employee during the 
10
time federal or State deployment orders are in effect, subject 
11
to the conditions set forth in this Section.  Family military 
12
leave granted under this Act may consist of unpaid leave.
13
     (b) An employer, as defined in Section 5 of this Act, that 
14
employs more than 50 employees"; and
 
15
on page 2, line 1, by replacing "entitled to" with "shall 
16
provide"; and 
 
17
on page 2, line 1, after "leave", by inserting "to an 
18
employee"; and

on page 2, line 6, by replacing "(b)" with "(c)"; and
