| AN ACT concerning property.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Condominium Property Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 30.5 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (765 ILCS 605/30.5 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 30.5. Conversion of apartments. In the case of the |
| 8 |
| conversion of an apartment building into condominium units, a |
| 9 |
| municipality shall have the right to inspect the apartment |
| 10 |
| building prior to the conversion to condominium units and may |
| 11 |
| require that each new proposed condominium unit comply with the |
| 12 |
| current life safety, building, and zoning codes of the |
| 13 |
| municipality.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 15 |
| becoming law.
