| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 2 as follows:
|

| Sec. 2. Legislative purpose. The
The General Assembly has |

| established
numerous protections for the generous and |
| 9 |
| compassionate acts of its citizens
who volunteer their time and |
| 10 |
| talents to help others. These protections or good
samaritan |
| 11 |
| provisions have been codified in many Acts of the Illinois |
| 12 |
| Compiled
Statutes. This Act recodifies existing good samaritan |
| 13 |
| provisions. Further,
without limitation the provisions of this |
| 14 |
| Act shall be liberally construed to
encourage persons to |
| 15 |
| volunteer their time and talents. |
