| AN ACT concerning safety.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Fireworks Use Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 1 as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 1. The
The term fireworks shall mean and include any |
| 8 |
| explosive
composition, or any substance or combination of |
| 9 |
| substances, or article
prepared for the purpose of producing a |
| 10 |
| visible or audible effect of a
temporary exhibitional nature by |
| 11 |
| explosion, combustion, deflagration or
detonation, and shall |
| 12 |
| include blank cartridges, toy cannons, in which
explosives are |
| 13 |
| used, the type of balloons which require fire underneath to
|
| 14 |
| propel the same, firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, Roman |
| 15 |
| candles, bombs,
or other fireworks of like construction and any |
| 16 |
| fireworks
containing any explosive compound, or any tablets or |
| 17 |
| other device
containing any explosive substance, or containing |
| 18 |
| combustible substances
producing visual effects: provided, |
| 19 |
| however, that the term "fireworks"
shall not include snake or |
| 20 |
| glow worm pellets; smoke devices; trick noisemakers
known as |
| 21 |
| "party poppers", "booby traps", "snappers", "trick matches", |
| 22 |
| "cigarette
loads" and "auto burglar alarms"; sparklers; toy |
| 23 |
| pistols, toy
canes, toy guns, or other devices in
which paper |
| 24 |
| or plastic caps containing twenty-five hundredths grains or
|
| 25 |
| less of explosive compound are used, providing they are so |
| 26 |
| constructed that
the hand cannot come in contact with the cap |
| 27 |
| when in place for the
explosion; and toy pistol paper or |
| 28 |
| plastic caps which contain less than
twenty hundredths grains |
| 29 |
| of explosive mixture; the sale and use of which
shall be |
| 30 |
| permitted at all times. |
