| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Employee Benefit Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 10 as follows:
|

| (105 ILCS 55/10)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 10. Definitions.
|
| 8 |
| "Annuitant" means a retired school district employee |
| 9 |
| entitled to receive retirement benefits, as defined by the |
| 10 |
| school district. |
| 11 |
| "Department" means the Department of Central Management |
| 12 |
| Services. |
| 13 |
| "Dependent" means a school district employee's dependent |
| 14 |
| as defined by the school district. |
| 15 |
| "Director" means the Director of Central Management |
| 16 |
| Services. |
| 17 |
| "Employee" means a school district employee who is entitled |
| 18 |
| to benefits as defined by the school district. |
| 19 |
| "Rules" includes rules adopted and forms prescribed by the |
| 20 |
| Department. |
| 21 |
| "School district" means a public school district in this |
| 22 |
| State, including a vocational education district, a special |
| 23 |
| education district, a program operated by an educational |
| 24 |
| service region, and a joint agreement.
