| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 11-1429 as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/11-1429 new) |

| Sec. 11-1429. No riding in truck cargo area. A person may |
| 8 |
| not operate a second division vehicle on a public highway while |
| 9 |
| the cargo area of that vehicle is occupied by any person.
