| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 12-610.5 as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/12-610.5)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 12-610.5. Tinted registration plate covers.
|
| 8 |
| (a) It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle that |
| 9 |
| is equipped with
tinted plastic or tinted glass registration |
| 10 |
| plate covers.
|
| 11 |
| (b) A violation of subsection (a) of this Section or a |
| 12 |
| similar provision of a local ordinance
shall be an offense |
| 13 |
| against laws and ordinances regulating the movement of
traffic. |
| 14 |
| (c) It is a violation of this Section for any person to |
| 15 |
| knowingly sell or otherwise deliver to another person a tinted |
| 16 |
| glass or a tinted plastic registration plate cover for use in |
| 17 |
| violation of subsection (a) of this Section.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |

| becoming law.
