<reference>740 ILCS 35/1</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 29, par. 61</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Construction Contract Indemnification for Negligence Act. Provides that, in contracts or agreements for the listed types of construction, alteration, repair, or maintenance, any covenant, promise, or agreement to procure an insurance policy to indemnify or hold harmless another person from that person's own negligence is void as against public policy and wholly unenforceable. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Construction Contract Indemnification for Negligence Act. Makes a technical change in the Section concerning contracts to indemnify or hold harmless another person from that person's negligence.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
