<reference>20 ILCS 105/8.08 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>30 ILCS 105/5.95 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Illinois Act on Aging and the State Finance Act. Creates the Medassist Board to award grants to organizations for the purpose of assisting individuals in accessing free and discounted prescription programs; to explore, develop, and implement innovative strategies for managing the rising costs of prescription medications and for increasing access to prescription medications; and to compile data and information regarding the cost of prescription medications and related matters. Contains provisions concerning the membership, powers, and duties of the Board. Creates the Medassist Fund, a special fund in the State treasury, into which funds received from private, State, or federal sources specifically for prescription medication assistance may be deposited, and from which funds shall be appropriated by the General Assembly to the Illinois Medassist Board.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
