<reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>30 ILCS 805/8.27 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Creates the School Employee Health Insurance Act. Provides for the creation of a group health plan for school district employees and retirees. Specifies certain benefits and terms. Provides for the creation of regional purchasing pools. Assigns each school district to a pool. Provides for administration of each pool by a board of trustees, with guidance from consultants and the Department of Central Management Services. Requires each school district to purchase its group health plan coverage from its assigned pool. Excludes Chicago. Authorizes individual school districts that provide comparable plans to opt out of the assigned pool. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.
