Provides that the 5 years of credit for military service that a person may establish does not need to follow a period of employment with an employer under the State Universities Article or the State Employees Article (now all but 2 years must immediately follow a period of employment with an employer under the State Universities Article or the State Employees Article). Provides that a person who establishes credit for military service that does not immediately follow employment with an employer under the State Universities Article or the State Employees Article is not required to pay interest on required contributions.
