<reference>810 ILCS 5/4-402</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 26, par. 4-402</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Uniform Commercial Code. Provides that a payor bank may not impose a charge or fee more than once for each check returned due to insufficiency of available funds. Provides that a payor bank may impose a charge or fee only once per day regardless of the number of transactions resulting in insufficiency of available funds. Provides that a payor bank must process checks drawn against an account in a manner that is based upon debiting the smallest checks first each day. Provides that a bank wrongfully dishonors an item if it dishonors a check solely because it did not process checks in this manner.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
